Indian Council for Scientific Research & Social Development undertake various activities like promoting safe sanitation and supply clean drinking water, build the capacity of local community/ PRIs to manage the in-village water supply systems and sources, participate in Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (Clean India campaign), setting up toilets and eco-sanitation facilities, installing water ATMs and other drinking water facilities, assisting the community in planning and management of the water supply schemes, working on water resources and watersheds, undertaking research and development in the field of rural water supply and sanitation programme, running of block resource centers (BRCs), etc.

The activities undertaken by Indian Council for Scientific Research & Social Development contribute towards achieving Sustainable Development Goal - SDG-3- Good health and well-being- Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages and SDG 6- Clean Water and sanitation- Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all.
